The Connected ICT Innovation Awards celebrates innovators and entrepreneurs who have launched technology-led ICT products and services.
The inaugural awards were held in 2011 at the Connected Kenya Summit; the award has since recognized more than 66 new ICT products and solutions.
The African Union Agenda 2063 indicates that Africa, today, has the potential to harness sophisticated technologies, and investment in the sector is growing rapidly.
It is projected that by 2063, African countries will be amongst the best performers in quality-of-life indicators. Africa’s collective GDP will be proportionate to its share of the world’s population and natural resource endowments, with economies that are transformed through science, technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and competitiveness.
